To build a following with your content on social media you should make friends with like minded people in your market. This alignment with other authorities in your space is something of a modern day good ole boy network but much more credible, transparent and powerful. Not too different than building alliances in the offline world the same principles apply here. You get involved in social media and look for like minded people to reach out to. In the case of social media, you might rate other peoples videos or articles, make comments and become an active participant in the community.
By becoming a part of the community and helping other leaders with rankings, views and positive comments or even better a re-syndication of their content to your own network, this can make you friends fast. Do this the wrong way and it can backfire. We call this the “law of attraction”, simply do the right things by others and in time (their time not yours) a natural reciprocation will occur. This method works in all social media and also on forums, this process of making friends and sharing helpful information is how you build a following. The bigger your following becomes then the larger syndication you have for your content.

By building value you can become a trusted likable source and in time a certain percentage of people will elect to do business with you. Essentially selling on the internet is all about giving people options and allowing them to be in control of the process. This is very powerful because people make their own decisions on their terms not yours, but when they decide they essentially sell themselves. Now that’s my kind of selling!
